Printing Equipment Operator II
(10-05)
Under limited supervision, interprets and applies general directions and machine techniques. Prepares material, mechanical art, proofs and plates for duplication. Performs most of the complex printed duties, such as multi-color press operation and mechanical art. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Performing offset printing including job grouping and prioritizing; retrieval and cutting of necessary stock and related materials; setting up, loading and operation of printing equipment; maintaining quality control over printing job; and operating plate-making equipment and maintaining quality control over plates;
· Performing finishing work including setup, loading and operation of folding, cutting and binding equipment;
· Assisting the Director of Printing and Mail Services in prioritizing and monitoring of publications to ensure accuracy, quality and timeliness of production;
· Assisting with scheduling all printing material and coordinating long-run production jobs with typesetter; and
· Coordinating quick copy printing.
State Requirements: A high school diploma and experience in the operation of printing and duplicating machines.
FMU Preferences: Must be a high school graduate with printing experience or vocational training at a technical school.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Normal Working Hours: 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. (Monday - Friday). May be required to work 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. as printing jobs and other needs warrant. Summer hours may vary.
