Assistant Professor/Assistant Coordinator

 of Self-Paced Mathematics Program


Tenure-track position.  Successful candidate will have major responsibilities in the Self-paced Mathematics Program with the possibility of becoming the future coordinator.  The Program currently serves about 500 students per semester in algebra and trigonometry.  Salary is competitive and depends on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: A Masters in Mathematics or a Masters in Mathematics Education with at least 18 hours of graduate mathematics courses is required by August 2013.  A  Ph.D. in Mathematics or Mathematics Education is strongly preferred.   Candidates must have teaching experience, and possibly research experience, in individualized instruction.      

Start Date: August 2013

Responsibilities: Duties other than teaching include scheduling classes and supervising faculty, staff, and student workers—who work in teams—in day and night classes to ensure consistency.  Commitment to scholarly and service activities is expected.
