The Department of History at Francis Marion University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will offer both halves of the U.S. survey as well as upper-level courses on American economic history, the colonial and revolutionary periods, and the early republic. Ability to teach world history is preferred. A PhD in History by August 2013 and college teaching experience are required. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate promise insofar as research and university service. Candidates invited for an on-campus interview should anticipate giving an in-class presentation.
