Who is eligible?
Francis Marion University students whose semester fees are $500.00 or more and have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA are eligible for the Semester Payment Program. Charges may include general university fees and housing fees. Optional fees including the FMU Debit Card, car decals, and meal plans cannot be calculated into the payment plan. All previous debts to the University must be paid in order to be eligible. Fees are subject to change.
How does the Program work?
Financial assistance that has been applied to the student's account is subtracted from the total charges for the semester. SEE PAYMENT PLAN CALCULATION SHEET FOR DETAILS AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE. A payment plan is not available for Summer terms. Payments can be made by mail, phone, or in person at the Cashier's Office.
***Note: Credit/debit cards will not be automatically charged for monthly payments; authorization is required for each payment.***
What if I miss a payment?
All payments must be received by 5:00 pm on the payment due date. Payments made after this time will be late and a $15 late charge will be assessed to the student's account. Monthly statements are mailed only as a reminder. By enrolling in the payment plan, the student accepts responsibility for making timely payments. A student who has a delinquent account will not be able to pre-register for classes, request transcript or receive a diploma. If the student has already pre-registered for the next term, he/she may be dropped from these classes. A student who is delinquent with his/her payments may not be eligible to participate in the program for future semesters. Delinquent accounts are referred to a collection agency. The student will be responsible for any collection costs, attorney fees, or court costs.
