Senior Accountant - Cash Management (14-10)

 

Under general supervision, coordinates the incoming and outgoing cash flow to and from all sources.  Communicates to the State Treasurer's Office, banks, and grantors plans for upcoming cash needs.  Ensures cash is available for daily operations, as well as investment purposes.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviews collected balances in revenue clearing accounts;
  • Determines continuously, internal cash requirements and ensures that adequate funds are available for daily operations while maintaining maximum investments as allowed by fund source guidelines;
  • Reviews all documents requesting drawdowns of Federal Financial Assistance, federal grants, state grants, bond draws and debt service transactions;
  • Resolves discrepancies determined during reconciliations of multiple bank accounts, credit card composite accounts, and credit card charge-back accounts;
  • Reviews collected EFT balance of Federal Funds in revenue clearing account; and
  • Ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations with record retention as processes are converted to the retention of financial records on CD Rom Imaging.


State Requirements: A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.


FMU Preferences: Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 15 hours of college accounting as well as several computer courses.  Three to five years of professional accounting or related experience required.


State Classification: Accountant/Fiscal Analyst II


Band/Level: 5/2


Salary: Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and state guidelines.
