The Department of Psychology invites applications for a one-year appointment to begin August 2014. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in clinical psychology or related field from an APA-accredited psychology program or will have reached ABD status. Evidence of publication and potential for a programmatic line of research is desirable. Teaching is required in both the Department's undergraduate and graduate programs, potentially to include such courses as cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, abnormal psychology, and electives within the psychology curriculum. The successful candidate will be eligible to apply for a tenure-track position to begin August 2015.
FM offers excellent research facilities, a collaborative and collegial psychology department consisting of nine full-time faculty members, and the ability to accommodate professional interests. FM is one of South Carolina's 14 state-supported universities and enrolls approximately 4,000 undergraduate students. The campus is located 60 miles west of Myrtle Beach and 120 miles north of Charleston. The University is in a period of growth and development, including the Center for the Child, which is an on-campus, state of the art childcare facility that also houses a developmental clinic for faculty research, training, and clinical intervention, and the forthcoming Health Sciences Complex, which will be located in downtown Florence. FM places a high priority on providing support for the academic and teaching endeavors of its faculty, including ample intramural funding for travel and research activities (e.g., professional development monies and summer research stipends).
