The Department of English, Modern Languages, and Philosophy is accepting applications for a temporary position. This position is renewable for up to three years. Francis Marion (FM) is a state-supported regional university with a strong emphasis on the liberal arts. FM was recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education as a "great college to work for" in 2013. With approximately 4,000 undergraduate students, FM offers small class sizes that encourage strong professional relationships among faculty and students. FM is located in Florence, SC, a growing city with a vibrant arts culture. Florence is within easy driving distance of beach resorts, such as Myrtle Beach, and areas of historical interest, including Charleston and Savannah.
Requirements: M.A. or higher degree required. Demonstrated commitment to teaching first-year composition. Will teach twelve hours per semester.
Start Date: August 2014
