Grant Research Assistant (14-52)

Supervised by: Department Chair of Nursing

Summary of Duties:

The Grant Research Assistant is a 28 hours/week, administrative, three-year contact position pending continuous funding that supports the Project Director, Grant Administrator, and Key Personnel.  Primary responsibilities will include: preparing grant proposals and reports for submission; working across departments to coordinate, compile, and update all programmatic data; maintaining the grants calendar to ensure that compliance and all deadlines are met; draft progress reports; and recruitment.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities Include:

  1. Coordinate internally with staff to assemble program and financial data for applications and reports;
  2. Assist with the generation of data reports for grants;
  3. Maintain the grant files - file grant proposals, applications, research, etc.;
  4. Assist in the preparation of grant proposals (copying, assembling, etc.);
  5. Conduct recruitment of subject in hospitals, two-year colleges, and online;
  6. Work with Key Personnel in lab;
  7. Coordinate with and support Project Director and Grant Administrator;
  8. Conduct grant-related research as assigned;
  9. Assist in preparing grant reports for Executive Director and Board of Directors;
  10. Coordinate with Marketing for recruitment;
  11. Draft proposals, reports, and correspondence as needed; and
  12. Other duties and special projects as assigned.


  1. High school degree required.  Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) preferred;
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  3. Excellent organizational and administrative skills with a strong attention to detail;
  4. Team player;
  5. Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft Office, and the internet; and
  6. Must be people and results centered.

Salary: $24,000

Note: This is a temporary position in that it is not covered by the state grievance policy.  It will depend upon the needs of the Department Chair of Nursing.  The only state benefit available is the state retirement system.  It is expected that the need for this position will be three years.
