If a student, faculty/staff, or visitor to the Francis Marion University campus is issued a traffic citation for violating a parking regulation, he/she has the right to appeal. Traffic tickets can be appealed via the University's web site at http://www.fmarion.edu/~fmudps/appeal2.htm or by coming to the Accounting Office located in the Stokes Administration Building, room 103, to obtain an appeal form. The appeal must be turned in within 10 calendar days (including Saturday and Sunday) after the date the ticket was issued.
The appellant does not have to appear before the Traffic Committee, but may do so if he/she desires. The appellant will be sent a letter notifying him/her of whether or not the appeal has been approved. The Traffic Committee's decision is final. If the appeal is denied, payment must reach the Cashier's Office within 7 calendar days of the decision, or the fine will double.
