Th. Sep. 18:  Deadline to apply for the Washington Semester Program for Spring 2009.

 Fri. Sep. 19, noon: Deadline to RSVP (by e-mail) to Dr. Rooks for the Honors Reception for students and faculty at Wallace House on Sep. 22. There will be substantial refreshments, and you can bring a guest.

 Mon. Sep. 22: President and Mrs. Carter’s Reception at Wallace House, 6 – 8 p.m. We will conduct a brief organizational meeting of the Honors Student Association during the Reception. Annual dues are $10. We need to nominate candidates for four student offices; if you are interested, contact Dr. Rooks before Sep. 22. If you can’t make the Reception, but want to join HSA, come by Dr. Rooks’ office (FH 106) anytime. If you’re more comfortable walking over to Wallace House with a group, meet Dr. Rooks in the breezeway between FH and CEMC. She’ll wait there until 5:55 p.m. on Sep. 22.

 Wed. Oct. 1: Spring 2009 Honors class schedule ready. The completed schedule will be on the web site and the bulletin boards in CEMC 241 and outside FH 103.

 Th. Oct. 9: Information meeting for students interested in the Fall Honors Trip to Philadelphia; 3:45 p.m., FH 222B. If you’re interested in the Trip, this meeting is important. If you can’t attend, but want to go, see Dr. Rooks, although you can’t sign up for the Trip before the meeting.

 Wed. Oct. 15: Deadline for letters of application to be an Honors Ambassador Abroad in France over Spring Break 2009.

 Th. Oct. 23: Honors Play and Pizza Night for the FMU production of The Elephant Man.

 Wed. Oct. 22 – Fri. Oct. 31: Advising and pre-registration for Spring 2009. Remember, if you include at least one Honors class, you can pre-register on the first day!

 November: HSA sponsored campus drive for Toys 4 Tots

 Wed. Nov. 19 – Sun. Nov. 23: Fall Honors Trip to Philadelphia; departing from FMU by charter bus Wed. night and returning Sun. evening.

 Tues. Dec. 4: HSA Christmas Party at Dr. Rooks’ house.
