Mad Science is a worldwide franchise that provides children’s science enrichment programs to students from pre-school through 6^th grade.  Children around the world have been excited by this fun, hands-on science experience for over twenty-five years.

We are offering internships to Francis Marion University students for instructor positions. Our programming includes after school science clubs, in-school workshops, special events, etc... Candidates must be energetic, fun, outgoing, and enjoy working with children! 

Some key responsibilities include:

·         Instructors will be responsible for 15-25 students at a time in a classroom setting (most workshops are one hour duration)

·         Lesson planning

·         Time management

·          Care of students and release to parent or to proper child care provider at school at end of workshop

·         Maintaining close relations with schools

·         Attending weekly meetings with Mad Science management

·         Maintaining close contact with Mad Science program director

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a classroom setting, utilize public speaking skills, practice planning techniques, and gain experience in behavioral management.  It also helps us fulfill our Mission to “Touch every child possible in our franchise territory with exciting and fun hands-on science experiences which spark imaginative learning.  We will give more than we take in the communities we serve.”

No experience necessary, training provided. Must have own transportation. Background check and flexible hours required. Must have ability to lift 30lbs.  It will be the student’s responsibility to determine if his/her course of study gives credit for an internship.

Supplemental income. Part time position - Rate of pay is $7.75 per hour.

Current Junior or Senior preferred

GPA 2.75 or better
