Purchase and registration of LiveText account

     NOTE:  ALL UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE EDUCATION STUDENTS MUST PURCHASE LIVETEXT

1. Go to http://c1.livetext.com.
   
2. Go to upper right hand corner and click on "Buy On Line."
   
3. Under "How Do I Get Started?", click on "Student Membership."
   
4. Under "Standard Student Membership (89.00)," click on "Purchase Online."
   
5. Under "Select Service," click on second circle.
   
6. Click on "Next."
   
7. On this screen, you will be asked to provide personal identification, your user name and password, and other account information as requested.  The following rules apply to providing this information:

Email:  Use your FMU email address OR an email address you check at least once or more each day.  
     
User Name: 

1. Check the "Caps Lock" key on your keyboard.  The user name and password are case sensitive which means that if you register your user name and password in all capital letters, you will have to log in every time with your user name and password typed in all capital letters; you would not be able to log in otherwise.
   
2. Your user name must be at least 4 characters long.
   
3. For your first attempt, try the first letter of your first name followed by your last name (jsmith).  After completing all of the information on this page, you will click "Next" at the bottom of the page. 
   
4. If your user name is already in use, the same screen will re-appear with a red message at the top of the form asking you to select another user name. 
   
5. For your next attempt, add the second letter of your first name (josmith) and continue adding letters of your first name until an acceptable user name is selected.
   

Password:  Your password may be any combination of letters and/or numbers that are easy for you to remember.  Your password must be at least 6 characters long.  Be sure to write down your user name and password in a safe, secure place and do not share it with anyone.   

 Student ID: All 7 digits of your Social Security Number WITHOUT dashes.  

When you have filled out the last box ("Hint"), click on "Next".

8. This screen is your credit card information.  Complete your credit card information and click as indicated.
   
9. Your account is now open, click on the "Click here to log in" link.     
    
10. You will see a "Welcome to LiveText" screen.  If you wish to watch an animated movie which explains what LiveText is and does, click on the "For Students" button.  If you'd rather skip watching the movie and go directly to your courses and assignments, look for a [Dashboard] tab near the top left of the screen and click the [Dashboard] tab.
    
11. To log in to LiveText, always go to LiveText home page at http://c1.livetext.com and login using your user name and password to perform all LiveText operations.
