Dr. Jennifer L. Kunka

Dr. Jennifer Liethen Kunka joined the faculty in 2001 and now serves as an Associate Professor of English and the Director of the FMU Writing Center. Prior to joining the FMU faculty, Dr. Kunka worked as the Assistant/Acting Director of the Purdue University Writing Lab, where she developed many online pedagogical materials for the Purdue OWL. Her primary research interests include writing center practice and administration, composition and technology, and assessment. She also has interests in nineteenth- and twentieth-century British literature, postmodern theory, and gender studies. Dr. Kunka has published articles and delivered several conference papers on writing center research, composition pedagogy, and British literature. She is also a contributor to the 7th edition of the Prentice Hall Reference Guide. In addition, Dr. Kunka has held executive board positions with the Southeastern Writing Center Association and is the recipient of the 2005-2006 FMU Faculty Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
