Dr. Lisa Eargle
Dr. Lisa A. Eargle is an Associate Professor of Sociology. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from USC-Columbia in 1996. She currently teaches Urban Sociology ), Population in Society, Environment-Power-Opportunity, and Social Problems for the Sociology and Gender Studies Programs. Her research interests include issues of Local Economic Development and Prosperity, Environment and Hazards, Crime/Deviance, and Education. "I am currently researching the characteristics of places at risk for natural disasters in terms of population, infrastructure, and social institutions' characteristics." Dr. Eargle served as a member of the original Gender Studies Steering Committee, and on the Gender Studies Advisory Committee.
