Université de Caen Basse-Normandie
Founded in 1432 by King henry VI of England, the University of Caen today accommodates almost 25,000 students. In 1944, during World War II, the university was destroyed by bombing. Reconstruction began in 1948, and the new university was inaugurated on June 1 and 2, 1957. Its logo, the Phoenix, symbolizes this rebirth. The town of Caen is in Normandy, about two hours north of Paris along the northern coast of France. It is known for its historical buildings dating back to the reign of William The Conqueror, who was buried here.

ESCEM - School of Business and Management
Founded in 1988, the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce Et Management (ESCEM) is one of France’s exclusive grandes écoles and offers fourteen specialized programs in business and management. ESCEM has two campuses; one is in Poitiers, a picturesque town of about 100,000 once occupied by ancient Celts and Romans. The other campus is in Tours, (pop. 142,000) at the center of France’s wine region. To attend the ESCEM exchange you must be pursing a Major or Minor in the School of Business.
At ESCEM you can attend courses in the following areas:
Courses at the Poitiers campus are taught in English.
Courses at the Tours campus are taught in French.
Deadline: September 21 for Spring or March 1 for Fall
Semester in Poitiers:
Spring term. Spring begins in January and ends in May.
Fall term. Fall begins in September and ends in December.
