The James A. Rogers Library is a selective federal depository library and was designated as such in 1970. It also receives all publications that are made available through the South Carolina State depository system. The majority of the federal and state documents are shelved in a separate collection on the second floor of the Library. Primary use of this collection is for the faculty, staff, and students of Francis Marion University, and it is also available for use by the general public.
Many documents are cataloged and are accessible through the Library's web catalog. Those that are not cataloged are accessed through sources located in the documents office. Reference assistance is available during the same hours that the general Reference Desk is staffed. For assistance in using federal and state documents, contact the Government Documents Librarian at (843) 661-1313.
