Getting to FMU

After you've been admitted to FMU, you'll need to start making your travel plans.

If you're flying, as most international students do, you can fly first into any of the larger airports on the eastern seaboard, including Philadelphia, Charlotte or Charleston, and from there connect to the Florence Regional Airport (airport code FLO), where someone from FMU we will be happy to greet you and take you meet you and take you to campus.   There are also trains and buses available from some of the larger hubs.

You will want, of course, to arrive before classes start, but not so early that campus housing is not yet available (see below).

When you have booked your flights to Florence, please send a copy of your itinerary to the Coordinator of International Studies (Jon Tuttle at jtuttle@fmarion.edu), or your Program Liaison.  We will let you know who will be at the airport to greet you.  We will also have your housing keys, so we can take you straight to your residence.

Please plan to arrive in Florence on Friday, 6 January (or, if necessary, Thursday, 5 January). Classes will begin on Tuesday, 10 January.   That Saturday (7 January) we'll take a trip to Charleston, Columbia or some local point of interest, weather permitting.

Plan to arrive in Florence on Friday, 17 August (or, if necessary, Thursday 16 August).  Classes will begin on Monday afternoon, 20 August.   That Saturday (18 August) we'll take a trip to Charleston, Myrtle Beach or some other local point of interest.
