Dr. Wendy Caldwell
Associate Professor of Spanish and Coordinator of Spanish Program

Dr. Caldwell specializes in the 20th century Latin American narrative and gender studies.  She received the M.A. from the University of South Carolina and the Ph.D. from The University of Georgia.  Her current research interests include the testimonial narrative, border literature, and foreign language pedagogy.  She has published articles in scholarly journals and in 2004 published a book, _Narrative Voices and the Liberation Movement in the Mexican State of Chiapas_.  Her most recent publication appears in the fall 2007 issue of _Foreign Language Annals_.  In addition to living in Barcelona, Spain, her travels in the Spanish-speaking world include Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Costa Rica.  In addition to serving as Coordinator of the Spanish Program, she is the liaison for the Cuernavaca exchange program and the advisor to FMU's Chi Theta Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi.
