The Speech Program The Speech program is within the Department of Mass Communication. No major or minor or collateral is offered in Speech. Proficiency in oral communication is recognized as a vital aspect of education in a variety of disciplines. The University has adopted speech requirements into student assessment; business and education programs require courses in Basics of Oral Communication; and Voice and Diction is a core requirement for both Theatre Arts and Mass Communication majors.
