Writing Center Workshops

Writing Center Workshops are large-group interactive sessions where we help you address common writing situations and attain skills you need to succeed at writing tasks in both academic and professional environments. No reservation is required. For more information, please visit the Writing Center, located in FH 114-C, or call 843.661.1528.

* All Writing Center Workshops will be held in Lowrimore Auditorium (CEMC 114).

  • Avoiding Plagiarism—Wednesday, January 16, at 4:00 p.m.
  • Documenting Sources: Using APA Format—Wednesday, February 6, at 4:00 p.m.
  • Cross-referencing: Using MLA Format —Monday, February 11, at 3:45 p.m.
  • Writing for the Sciences: Lab Reports—Wednesday, April 3, at 4:00 p.m.
  • Conquering the Comma—Monday, April 8, at 3:45 p.m.

 

Writing Center Workouts

Writing Center Workouts are small-group interactive sessions where we combine the fun of a game show with the rigor of a boot camp to help you strengthen and hone your skills. Please make a reservation to attend a Writing Center Workout by calling us at 843.661.1528 or visiting the Writing Center in FH 114-C.  Each session will include a maximum of 15 participants.

* All Writing Center Workouts will be held in FH 114-B (right next to the Writing Center). 

  • Paraphrasing and Quoting (MLA Style)—Monday, January 28, at 2:30 p.m.
  • Fragments, Run-ons, and Comma Splices—Wednesday, February 27, at 2:30 p.m.
  • Paraphrasing and Quoting (APA Style)—Monday, March 4, at 2:30 p.m.
  • Fragments, Run-ons, and Comma Splices—Wednesday, March 27, at 2:30 p.m.
