Session Instructor and Vice President for Development, Mercy Hospital Foundation, San Diego, CA
Toby Bethea currently serves as Vice President for Development at the Mercy Hospital Foundation, which is charged with the task of raising gift support for Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, CA.
Prior to joining Mercy, he was executive director for health sciences development at the University of California, San Diego. Toby has been director of development at Duke University Medical Center where his roles included planning, directing, managing and coordinating all fund-raising programs for the medical center. He has also served as vice president for development and alumni affairs at Tulane University Medical Center. Toby has been vice president for institutional advancement at Davidson College in North Carolina and vice president at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
Toby holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College and has completed selected course work toward a Masters of Business Administration at Columbia University in New York.
