Capital Campaign: Innovative Instructional Programs
Innovative Instructional Programs
Innovative instructional programs prepare our students for the everchanging global economy and the expanding range of opportunities of the 21st century.
February 3, 2004 -

Francis Marion University has many fine programs that contribute to the excellence of its academic life and of which it can be justifiably proud. For example, the cooperative program in nursing combines the educational resources of Francis Marion University and the Medical University of South Carolina to serve a segment of the state's population who would not otherwise have affordable access to a baccalaureate degree in nursing.

Francis Marion University created the Honors program to enhance the learning potential of academically gifted students by challenging them in specially designed courses. Currently, this program impacts over 350 students.

On an international level, students majoring in education have the opportunity to student-teach in New Zealand. Additionally, Francis Marion has developed student exchange programs with the University of Basel in Switzerland and the Ludwigshafen School of Business in Germany. The University is exploring additional international exchange programs for students and faculty members.

These innovative instructional programs are vital in teaching Francis Marion University students to incorporate new information, develop fresh approaches to scholarship, and invent solutions to old problems. Revisions to the academic curriculum prepare our students for the ever-changing global economy and the expanding range of opportunities of the 21st century.
