Capital Campaign: Endowed Chairs
Endowed Chairs
Among the many fine faculty members at Francis Marion University are exemplars whose quality of scholarship, leadership, and service reach beyond the classroom to nurture the growth and development of the whole person. These are the endowed chairs.
February 3, 2004 -

Among the many fine faculty members at Francis Marion University are exemplars whose quality of scholarship, leadership, and service reach beyond the classroom to nurture the growth and development of the whole person. These faculty members are recognized by conferring upon them the title and additional financial support made available as an endowed chair.

Endowed chairs are established as a result of prudent fore thought on the part of an individual, group, foundation, or business that wishes to acknowledge the importance of study in a particular discipline and/or honor a specific individual or corporation. The funds derived from the annual earnings on the investment enable faculty members holding the title of endowed chair more opportunities to pursue research and scholarship and to transmit the fruits of these efforts on to the students of Francis Marion University. Through the establishment of a $100,000 endowment, the initial gift remains secure in perpetuity.
