Capital Campaign: James A. Rogers Library
James A. Rogers Library
The James A. Rogers Library is one of the busiest, and most valued, resources on campus.
February 3, 2004 -

James A. Rogers Library

- is the largest library in northeastern South Carolina

- has 370,000 print volumes

- 430,000 microform units

While people have feared the demise of traditional libraries in a digital age, the exact opposite has occurred - technologically-equipped libraries have become absolutely essential. Currently, most of the vast store of knowledge at the library remains in printed form. However, an increasing number of students and faculty are retrieving information electronically - images and manuscripts - and have made the library the busiest place on campus.

Recognizing the value of knowledge and the talent and potential of the people of this region, the James A. Rogers Library is working to establish a facility that will provide a greater range of training and services for students, professionals, and the general public. In this increasingly networked society, the value of an established source of authoritative resources is critical.

The continued growth of the library and the expansion of its services remain integral to improved educational opportunities for students and the Pee Dee region.
