Capital Campaign: Unrestricted Endowment
Unrestricted Endowment
Unrestricted endowments are the lifeblood of great universities because such funds provide new opportunities including the freedom to enhance learning, to attract the brightest, to retain the best, and to meet needs in a rapidly changing environment.
February 3, 2004 -

Francis Marion University faces many challenges in meeting the educational needs of a modern society. Already, we see how rapidly information is exchanged, synthesized, and reinvented to become new innovations. As a result, universities have an obligation to their students to ensure that they are prepared to live and work in a diverse, global, and fast-paced environment.

Francis Marion University seeks funds to be placed in a permanent unrestricted endowment, from which only the annual earnings will be expended for the highest priority needs. Such an endowment is pivotal to Francis Marion University; the resources provided by this endowment will allow the University to meet urgent needs and to capitalize on emerging possibilities.

The future of Francis Marion University depends on a strong endowment, one that enables the University to provide generations of students with rich academic experiences. A strong endowment empowers not on the University but also the students.
