Endowed Scholarships
Because of limited personal financial resources, many talented students regard post-secondary education as only a dream. This statement is especially true for the Pee Dee region, where 52,000 families have an annual income of less than $15,000. Past donors to scholarship funds have helped offset this reality. However, the need to sustain and create new scholarships for worthy students continues to grow.
Endowed scholarships are the lifeblood of a university's future. While current alumni are proof of a university's educational currency, future alumni ensure the continued value of that degree for those who have gone before. An endowed schoarlship is the promise the past makes to the future. Creating an endowed scholarship is an ideal way to demonstrate support for a particular discipline or for students in general. A named, permanently endowed scholarship may be established with a minimum gift of $25,000. Through the endowment process, scholarship funds continue to grow over the years, assisting future students in perpetuity.
