Rebecca is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been with Francis Marion University since July 1997. She grew up in Indiana, but has also lived in Laramie, Wyoming and Syracuse, New York. Her professional interests include race relations, diversity issues, stress management, and treating anxiety and depression. Rebecca’s therapy style emphasizes the cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal perspectives.
Dr. Lawson is also the coordinator of disability services for the office. She coordinates the classroom accommodations for students with a documented history of disability.
One of Rebecca’s favorite job responsibilities is serving as an adjunct professor for the department of psychology. She teaches a section of Psychology 206 each fall and spring In her life away from FMU, Rebecca loves hiking, reading and is newly interested in birdwatching.
