Greetings and welcome! My name is Terence Jackson and I am a 23 year old recent graduate of FrancisMarionUniversity. I am from Lugoff, SC which is 45 minutes away from Florence towards Columbia on I-20.

 Choosing a college/university can be a heavy decision because there is so much to think about because you are making a choice concerning the next 4 years ahead of you. Before graduating high school in 2003, I made the best decision of my life by choosing to apply to FMU. My reason for this choice was because the university reminded me of my high school with the diversity and student body population. After visiting the campus during Open House and going through the admissions process, which was handled in an organized and timely fashion, my heart was sold on attending in the following fall academic year. With the campus housed on 400+ acreage, all of the academic facilities along with the residential facilities are in close proximity. During the spring, the campus is arrayed with colorful foliage and warm weather. We are only 45 minutes away from Myrtle Beach too!

 My major as a student was in Mass Communication with a minor in General Business. Being heavily involved in extracurricular activities in high school, I wanted to continue that involvement. While at FMU, I was a member of UPB, which stands for the University Programming Board, BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries), Wesley Foundation, NAACP, and a staff writer for our student newspaper, The Patriot.
