I am excited to hear about your interest in Francis Marion University. We are a special place of 4,000 students. Francis Marion is a state, liberal arts university, located in Florence, South Carolina. While most of our students are from South Carolina (and a good number from the Pee Dee of South Carolina!), our students also represent 32 states and 16 foreign countries. We are first a teaching institution with small classes and low student-to-faculty ratios.
I am new to Francis Marion. I graduated from a small college in Iowa and have worked at two different colleges and universities in North Carolina since 1982. My wife is a university professor in North Carolina. Our two children are college students – one in Virginia and one in South Carolina. Neither is studying in their mother’s field.
