Congratulations on your acceptance to Francis Marion University! We are delighted that you have chosen to accept our offer of admission and are planning to enroll at FMU. The Orientation staff is eagerly anticipating your arrival and thrilled to have the pleasure of being the first to welcome you into our Patriot Family.
All new students are required to attend one of our Orientation sessions, because we at FMU strongly believe that our Orientation program will help to get you on the path to college success. Our programs are designed to help new students and their families adjust to college life at FMU. During Orientation, new students meet current students serving as Orientation Leaders, receive valuable information about the academic and social aspects of college life, and are advised and registered for classes by a faculty member.
As a reminder, if you have never taken a college level English class, we ask that you take the English placement test. Please contact the Office of Counseling and Testing at 843-661-1840 to schedule an appointment to take the test. The test is not timed and there is a $5.00 fee for the test.
