CREDIT NOTE INFORMATION

     What is a credit note?

A credit note is an option made available to a student who has not completed her/his financial assistance file early enough to have funds available by the payment due date.

Why would I want to sign a credit note?

If you do not have the funds to pay your bill by the payment due date, the credit note will allow you to deduct the amount of student Stafford loan that you qualify for from the balance owed the university.

Why wouldn’t I want to sign a credit note?

There is a non-refundable $50 charge added to the balance that you owe the university. If you can pay your balance and wait for your file to be complete and funds awarded then you will save yourself $50.

How much credit can I typically expect to have available to apply toward my balance?

Freshman (0-21 hours) -- $2750                           Sophomore (22-53 hours) -- $3250                               Junior/Senior (54 or more hours) -- $3750

What if I need additional funds?
