FMU to display work of two S.C. art teachers

The works of painter Paul Yanko and that of painter and sculpture Lee Ann Harrison will be on display in Hyman Fine Arts Center beginning Aug. 23 as part of Francis Marion University’s Art Gallery Series.

The University will showcase “Recent Works: 2013-2016 by Paul Yanko” and “Bindings” by Harrison through Sept. 22. Yanko is an instructor in the Visual Arts Department at the S.C. Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville. Harrison is an instructor in visual arts at the Community School of Davidson in North Carolina.

Yanko says he develops “paintings systematically through an additive process of layering acrylic paint mixed with acrylic mediums onto masked areas.” Harrison says her work is inspired by the human form and are typically three-dimensional.The Art Gallery Series is on display Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. For additional information, call 843-661-1385.
