Founded in 1988, the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce Et Management is one of France’s exclusive grandes écoles and offers fourteen specialized programs in business and management. ESCEM’s two campuses are available to FMU students: one is in Poitiers, a picturesque town of about 100,000 once occupied by ancient Celts and Romans and the Poitiers campus is for English language students. The other campus is in Tours (pop. 142,000) at the center of France’s wine region, and all of its classes are taught in French.

Housing/Meals: The International Office at ESCEM will assist you in finding accommodation in Poitiers. Early application will give you a better selection. Housing costs between 250€ to 450€ per month, which includes utilities. If you decide to find accommodation on your own, be prepared to pay for utilities. Students are responsible for their own meal plans.

Applying to ESCEM

After you have been accepted to the FMU exchange program will require that you meet with the FMU liaisons as soon as possible to review which certificate options would be best suited to you. The application to ESCEM will require:

• A completed Application Form and a Learning Agreement indicating your choice of certificate and classes

• A passport-sized photo ID

• A copy of your birth certificate issued within six months of your date of application to ESCEM

• A translation of this birth certificate into French (Drs. Zahnd or Harding can help with this)

• A current resume

• A TOEFL score if your native language is not English

• An official FMU transcript

Students placed at the Poitiers campus will take a French language and culture class, so it is recommended the student first take French 101/102 at FMU to help prepare.

An Orientation Meeting will be held for all students traveling abroad shortly before departure.
