The Francis Marion University African-American Faculty/Staff Coalition will hold its annual scholarship banquet Thursday, Dec. 13, in Ervin Dining Hall on the FMU campus at 7 p.m.
The keynote speaker will be Michael Blue, who is the founding pastor of The Door of Hope Christian Church in Marion and an FMU alum (’85).
“The Francis Marion University African-American Faculty and Staff Coalition's Scholarship Banquet is an annual event that generates funds for our Joseph E. Heyward Scholarship and promotes our Rebecca S. Lunn Scholarship,” said Linda Becote, president of the coalition. “The banquet is not only a fundraiser but also a wonderful opportunity to meet, greet, and for fellowship with colleagues, students and members of the community.”
A reception at 6 p.m. will be hosted by FMU President and Mrs. Fred Carter, followed by the dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person with proceeds going toward the group’s scholarship funds.
