FLORENCE, S.C. – Brian Waldrop originally of Greenville received Francis Marion University’s Morgan B. Coker School of Business Outstanding Alumnus Award for 2007.
The award was presented during a breakfast on Feb. 16.
Waldrop graduated from FMU in 1985 with a B.S. degree in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and received his M.B.A. from Delta State University in Mississippi.
Waldrop began his career at Frigidaire and Arvin Industries and soon made his way to Viking Range Corporation in Greenwood, Miss., in 1991 as an accountant. Viking is the originator of commercial-type cooking appliances for homes.
In the nearly 16 years he has been employed with Viking, Brian has served in various capacities of the finance department, including accounting manager, corporate controller, director of finance, vice president of finance and now senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
Brian Waldrop is also very active in community and church affairs. He currently serves on the Greenwood-Leflore Hospital Board, the Greenwood Community Health Center Board, Delta State Foundation and is the past president of the Greenwood Lion’s Club. He also serves as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Greenwood.
Brian is married to the former Tonya Foshee of Summerville, and they have two sons, Matthew and Mark.
