FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University String Ensemble will perform in concert, Sunday, April 22.
The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Hyman Fine Arts Center’s Kassab Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
The String Ensemble, which consists of FMU professors and a community member, will perform two suites from “The Fairy Queen” by Henry Purcell and “Brook Green Suite” by Gustav Holst.
The concert will also feature Sydney Pullen and Jasmine Whelan’s performance of Vivaldi’s “Concerto for Two Celli and Strings.” Pullen and Whelan are seniors at Wilson High School and also perform with the Florence Symphony Orchestra and Youth Orchestra. Whelan is the daughter of Peter Whelan, an FMU professor of English.
The ensemble is directed by Terry Roberts, a professor of music at FMU.
