FMU board member receives national honor

FLORENCE, S.C.- Francis Marion University trustee L. Franklin “Frank” Elmore, who is also co-founder for the regional Carolinas law firm, Elmore & Wall, P.A. in Greenville, was recently selected for inclusion in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, the preeminent referral guide to the legal profession in the United States.

Since its inception in 1983, The Best Lawyers in America has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence in the United States. Inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America is based upon an exhaustive peer review survey in which 16,000 leading attorneys throughout the country cast more than a half a million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their specialties.

The Florence native limits his practice to construction and surety matters. He represents construction and surety clients in litigation, arbitration and mediations throughout the Southeast.

Elmore & Wall, P.A., with offices in Charleston, Greenville and Raleigh N.C., provides representation in the areas of construction and surety law, insurance defense and coverage issues, and complex litigation, including the defense of medical malpractice, products liability, toxic torts and class action litigation throughout the Carolinas.

Elmore earned a bachelor’s degree at FMU in 1973 and a law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1976. He was admitted to the state bar in 1976. He is a member of the American Bar Association. In 1983, he was recognized as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America. He was the recipient of FMU’s Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1996.  He received the 2001 award from the Carolinas AGC for outstanding individual contribution.

Elmore is married to the former Anna Lee Timberlake of Greenville, and they have two children.
