FMU offers public tours of Hewn-Timber Cabins, Oct. 9
FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University will offer public tours of its Hewn-Timber Cabins, Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Visitors should enter the campus on Wallace Woods Road from U.S. Hwy. 76/301.

In 1974, these two remaining cabins were placed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in 1980, nine acres of land were donated to FMU as a permanent site for their location.
The cabins are open to the public on the second Tuesday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. To see the cabins at other times make an appointment with Karl McAlister at 843-661-1311.
