FMU to host annual Volunteer Fair, Sept. 26
FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University Office of Career Development will host its 17th-annual Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Smith University Center commons area.
Representatives from area volunteer organizations who are in need of volunteers will set up booths and recruit students to become active in the community. Members of the public who are interested in volunteering are also invited to attend.
More than 20 volunteer agencies are expected to be on hand for the fair. Organizations currently scheduled to participate include: Alston Wilkes Society, Boys and Girls Club of the Pee Dee, Brittani Foundation, Childcare Connections Resource & Referral, City of Florence Parks & Leisure Services, Florence Family YMCA, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Leatherman Senior Center, Lighthouse Ministries, McLeod Children’s Hospital, McLeod Hospice, Palmetto Youth Academy, Pee Dee Coalition, Pee Dee Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Pee Dee Community Action Agency Weed and Seed, Pee Dee Mental Health Center, Senior Citizens Association, United Way of Florence and Winyah Community Hospice.
