FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University senior guard Brittany Young, a native of Moncks Corner, became the 24th Patriot cager to surpass the 1,000-point mark when she scored a season-high 22 points in a 113-103 win at Lander University on Wednesday evening (Jan. 30).
With the road win, the 22nd-ranked Patriots improve to 14-2 overall and sit atop the Peach Belt Conference standings with a 7-2 mark. FMU is guided by first-year head coach Heather Macy, who inherited nine letterwinners from the 2006-07 squad that went 6-22.

She is fifth on the FMU career assists list with 492 (nine shy of fourth place) and is seventh on the PBC career list. With eight more assists she will become only the fourth Patriot with 1,000 points and 500 assists.
