FLORENCE, S.C. — The Francis Marion University baseball team will host its annual Youth Baseball Day on Saturday (April 5).
Youth league teams from throughout the area are invited to come out to Cormell Field and watch the 23rd-ranked Patriots play a doubleheader against Georgia College and State University at 1 p.m. The gates will open at noon.
Radar guns will be available for the kids to test their pitching skills, and there will also be jump castles to play in.
Youth players will receive free admission as well as a free hot dog and drink if they wear their team uniform. Regular admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
Francis Marion (25-14 11-7) is currently third in the Peach Belt Conference standings, while GC&SU is tied for fifth (21-17, 7-8).
The two squads will conclude their three-game series with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
