FLORENCE, SC - Francis Marion University senior runner Codi Knoch won a pair of championships at this past weekend’s 16th-annual Carolinas Intercollegiate Track and Field Championship Meet, held in Pembroke, N.C.
Knoch won the 1,500-meters in a time of 5:20.67 and the 3,000-meters with a time of 11:40.37. At an earlier meet this spring, she set a school record in the 3,000-meters.
FMU junior Kelly May won the women’s high jump competition with a leap of 4-feet 11-inches. May also placed fourth in the 1,500-meters in a time of 5:32.15.
Kim Richardson and Amanda Doyle placed third and fourth respectively in the 3,000-meters.
FMU’s Jerry Roth finished second in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:59.10. Patriot senior Ariel Ortiz was third in the 800-meters (2:07.49), while Ben Miller was fourth in the 1,500-meters (4:40.18).
Dan Brann and Michael Bonner were fourth and sixth respectively in the 5,000-meters with times of 17:29.07 and 19:40.09.
The Patriot women finished third in the team standings, while the FMU men were fifth.
