FLORENCE, SC – A few hours after it was announced that the Francis Marion University men’s soccer home match on Saturday had been moved, the Patriot women’s program also changed its match scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
Both schedule alterations were facilitated by the extremely wet condition of the FMU Soccer Field.
The Peach Belt Conference men’s soccer match between Francis Marion and Clayton State University scheduled for Saturday afternoon (Sept. 20) has been moved from the FMU campus to the Coker College Soccer Field in Hartsville. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m.
The Patriot men are 1-4-1, while the Lakers bring a 3-3-0 record into the PBC opener for both squads.
The women’s match between FMU and Charlotte (3-3-1) set for Sunday at 2 p.m. has been moved to the Charlotte campus with a 7 p.m. kick off on Sunday evening.
The Patriot women had been scheduled to celebrate Girls Youth Soccer Day on Sunday with each area youth player wearing their team jersey being invited to participate in a one-hour clinic with the Francis Marion squad immediately following the match. That event has been pushed back a week to Sept. 28 when the Patriots host Eastern Kentucky University at 1 p.m.
