FMU Foundation Invitational Golf Tournament and Auction, March 12-13

FLORENCE – The Francis Marion University Foundation Invitational Golf Tournament sponsored by Victor’s Bistro & Garden Room will be held Friday, March 13, at the Country Club of South Carolina.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the LeRoy “Pete” Peterson Scholarship and the Francis Marion General Scholarship Fund.

The event will begin with a luncheon and registration at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon. The format will be a modified captain’s choice. The Pee Dee Pig Pickin’ cookout will be held following the end of play.

The entry fees are $1,000 for a team (which includes entry fees for a foursome and sponsorship signage) and $200 for an individual. Individual hole sponsorships are also available for $250.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, and a hole-in-one contest will be sponsored by King Cadillac Buick Pontiac GMC Inc. Brigade sponsors for the tournament include BB&T, Capstone Development, Sodexho Campus Services and Pinnacle Network Solutions.

There will also be a pre-tournament auction benefitting the FMU Foundation and Swamp Fox Club at The Cottage on the FMU campus on Thursday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m. Among the items to be auctioned will be a one-week stay at Edisto Beach, a quail hunt at Moree’s Sportsman’s Preserve, a weekend stay in historic Charleston, a University of North Carolina Women’s Basketball Experience, four tickets to the 2009 Chick-fil-A Bowl Game in Atlanta, Ga., a dinner cruise on the Inner Coastal Waterway and a guided tour of places trod by General Francis Marion.
