FLORENCE, S.C. – For the fifth consecutive year, the Francis Marion University women’s soccer team has earned a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award, this time ranking 17th out of all 300-plus NCAA Division I women’s programs. These most recent awards are for the 2007-08 school year.
Francis Marion compiled a cumulative 3.39 team grade point average for the academic year. Only four other Palmetto State women’s programs made the list.
In 2006-07, Francis Marion ranked third among Division I programs with a 3.59 GPA, while in 2005-06 FMU ranked 30th among all schools (tied for ninth in Division I) with a 3.42 GPA; 81st among all schools (all divisions) in 2004-05 with a 3.35 GPA; and 58th among all schools in 2003-04 with a 3.39 GPA.
