FLORENCE, SC – Both the Francis Marion University men’s and women’s soccer teams will hold their respective Senior Days this weekend.
The Patriot Men will entertain North Georgia College & State University on Saturday at 4 p.m. on the FMU Soccer Field. Kickoff has been pushed back two hours from the original start time of 2 p.m. Admission is free.
The FMU Women (2-11-1) will play host to Longwood University (8-6-0) on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Francis Marion men’s team is 7-3-3 overall and 2-1-2 in the Peach Belt Conference, while North Georgia is 5-5-0 and 1-2-0.
Prior to Saturday’s match, FMU will recognize four seniors: goalkeeper and South Florence High School product Jeremy Crooks, defender Jared Beauchamp, and midfielders Alden Brooks and Kyle Clinton.
Crooks has appeared in 17 career matches in goal and owns career totals of a 2.33 goal against average, 76 saves, and two shutouts. Beauchamp has appeared in 65 career matches with six goals and three assists; Brooks has appeared in 65 career matches with two goals and three assists; and Clinton has appeared in 69 career matches with 27 goals and 11 assists.
Prior to Sunday’s match, FMU will honor four seniors: goalkeeper Emily Brandenburg, midfielders Jennifer Dyer and Angela Salem, and defender Rachel Rubin.
Brandenburg has appeared in 16 career matches in the field and 27 matches in goal with career totals of a 2.53 GAA, 123 saves, and three shutouts. Dyer joined the squad this year after playing on the FMU basketball team and has played in eight matches with two assists, while Rubin has missed only one match in her four years (69 starts) and tallied one goal and one assist and Salem has played in 68 career matches with 13 goals and 29 assists.
