FMU to host student leadership conference

FLORENCE – The 2010 Francis Marion University Leadership Conference “Blueprint for Success” will be held on Saturday, March 27. Brought to the campus by the graduates of Leadership FMU and the members of Omicron Delta Kappa, the conference will take place in Cauthen Educational Media Center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Students will have the opportunity to learn and network with fellow students and educators and learn from the experts in various professions. This conference brings student leaders from various backgrounds and organizations together to disseminate leadership and personal development tools to better themselves while helping communities, families, organizations and ultimately institutions.

Sessions will include presentations by professionals in the field, break-out sessions with student leaders and professionals, team building exercises and networking.

Topics to be explored include discovering the impact today’s leaders will have on the future, networking with other student and professional leaders, exploring and developing  action plans for success and learning about current trends, methods and other attributes that are required for successful leaders.

The keynote address will be given by Darryl Bridges, vice president for public and community affairs, and will cover a range of topics in the field of student leadership. 

"The 2010 Francis Marion University Student Leadership Conference provides tomorrow's leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the constantly evolving job market," said Amanda Morales, FMU student leader and director of the FMU Leadership Conference. "At the same time, attendees are given potentially career-launching opportunities to network with respected members of a chosen profession and their peers."
