FMU Foundation and Swamp Fox Club to Hold Auction, Thursday

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University Foundation and the university’s Swamp Fox Club will hold their annual Live Benefit Auction, Thursday evening (March 11).

This auction, which is being held in conjunction with the next day’s FMU Foundation Invitational Golf Tournament, will take place in the University’s Ervin Dining Hall (Palmetto Room) at 7:30 p.m. A cocktail reception will precede the auction at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 for individuals and $40 for a couple. Dress will be casual. For ticket information, call the FMU Foundation at 843-661-1199 or or the athletic department office at 843-661-1240.

Approximately 20 items will be offered in the live auction. 

The items include motor coach travel to the beach plus dinner for 8 at Rossi's; Frogmore Stew for 50 prepared by The Catering Company; an elegant dinner for 12 hosted by the New York Butcher Shoppe; use of an Edisto Beach house, an Isle of Palms beach house, and the Beach Cove in North Myrtle Beach (with dinner for two at Greg Norman's); and a weekend getaway to Columbia, S.C.

Also, a Rustic River Retreat in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; two nights at the Hideaway Haven in Mullins, S.C.; design and installation in buyer's home of 16 feet of closet with rods, shelves and drawers; a boat trip to Charleston and back along the Intracoastal Waterway; four tickets to the USC vs. Clemson basketball game next season in Columbia; tickets to the 2010 Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta; use of three billboards for four weeks in Florence; and two pistols (FNP 9 and FNP 40).

Also, a turkey hunt at Brockington Hunt Club in Mechanicsville, S.C. ; a hunt and breakfast; a quail hunt for two at Smithfield Farms via horse-drawn carriage; a deer hunt for two in Marion County with overnight stay; a duck hunt for two at Maidendown Bay this fall; and a hunting excursion for four.

All proceeds from the event will go to assist student-athletes and the Patriot athletic program.
