FLORENCE, SC – The third-seeded Francis Marion University men’s basketball team will travel across the state on Interstate 20 to play second-seeded USC Aiken in a first-round Peach Belt Conference Tournament game, Wednesday evening (March 3) at 7 p.m.

Admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for students (with IDs) and seniors. Students from PBC schools will be admitted free with their school ID.
Francis Marion finished the regular season with their second-best record, 18-9, in 18 seasons. The Patriots finished third in the East Division standings at 10-8, one game behind USCA (16-10, 11-7).
Junior 6-4 forward Simel Boyd leads the Patriots in both scoring (12.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.6 rpg), while connecting on 51.6 percent of his field goal attempts. Senior 6-5 swingman Kaylan Anderson is averaging 10.8 ppg.
FMU leads the all-time series 42-28, and swept the season series from the Pacers – winning 83-73 in Florence in December and 77-71 in overtime on Jan. 13 in Aiken.
Wednesday’s winner advances to the tournament semifinals to be held on Saturday in the USCA Convocation Center. This winner will play the Georgia College & State University/Clayton State University winner in the second semifinal at 8 p.m. The tournament title game is set for Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
