FLORENCE, SC – Games times have been set for the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Baseball Tournament which will be hosted by Francis Marion University, Thursday through Sunday (May 13-16). The six-team, double-elimination tournament will be played on FMU’s Clifford S. Cormell Field.
The host Patriots (38-12), ranked sixth in this week’s Top 30 poll and the tournament’s top seed, will play sixth-seeded and 17th-ranked Erskine College (40-15) in Thursday’s final contest at 7 p.m. Also on Thursday, third-seeded and ninth-ranked Georgia College & State University (35-15) will face fourth-seeded and eighth-ranked Mount Olive College (40-9) at 11 a.m. and second-seeded and fourth-ranked Columbus State University (42-10) will meet fifth-seeded and 25th-ranked Catawba College (40-11) at 3 p.m.
Game times on Friday will also be at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.
Daily admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
The regional winner advances to the Division II World Series, May 22-29, at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. Lynn University is the defending national champion, while Mount Olive won the 2008 title. The 48-team NCAA Division II National Tournament field consists of eight regionals.
